Do I need an appointment?
We do ask that you call to book your pet’s appointments ahead of time. Booking in advance helps maintain your pet’s coat and helps us schedule the proper amount of time needed. We do offer nail trims at any time without an appointment.
How long will my dog stay at your salon?
Times depend on the breed and style of haircut. Larger dogs do take more time, as well as dogs set in longer-breed trims. We will always try to start your pet at their scheduled appointment time; however, some appointments may run unexpectedly long. We strive to make your pet's experience as pleasant as possible, so we try not to rush the process.
Can I stay with my pet?
We understand it can be hard leaving your pet, but we do not recommend staying with them for the duration of the groom. It is important to have your pet learn to relax and trust the groomer, as well as the environment. Having the owner present will encourage the dog to try to jump out of the tub, or off tables, which can injure them. This also can make the groom more dangerous, especially when using sharp tools. The least stressful thing for your pet is to act very calm during the drop-off. If your pet senses you are worried, they will also become worried about their surroundings. We promise to treat your pet as if they were our own.
What do you do for high anxiety pets?
If your pet is very nervous about grooming, we recommend bringing them in regularly. Regular visits will teach your pet that they are in a safe place. Each of our cat and dog groomers groom only one pet at a time; this helps lower stress and keep the environment calm and quiet.
How do you accommodate senior pets?
All of our grooming tables lower to the floor, for easier mobility on and off the table. We also can give your pet breaks during the groom, or split up your groom into two visits. We care about the comfort of your senior pet and would be happy to work with you to ensure they have a good experience.
Do you groom cats?
Christine has been grooming cats professionally since 2007. She can help you maintain your cat's coat, a lion cut, longer clips or even a dinosaur trim!
Can you brush out my matted dog?
Unfortunately, once a pet has become very matted the safest and kindest thing to do is start fresh. We will not do anything that will cause discomfort to your pet. For safety reasons, we wet shave all of our matted dogs. This gives the coat more elasticity and does not pull as much on the coat. Once your pet has been shaved, our groomers would be happy to assist you with a grooming schedule that fits the needs of your pet.
What if my pet has fleas or ticks?
We do ask that if you are aware of fleas to let us know while booking your appointment; that way, we can take extra precautions. If a pet arrives with fleas, there is a $5 to $10 fee added to their groom. Your pet will be bathed first, to protect other animals, and be kept separated. If we find a tick on your pet, we will remove it with a tick twister. We always recommend that your pet is up to date on vaccines and given regular flea preventive from your veterinarian.
